Nick Reed
Pedal Steel Guitar

Nick Reed, Country Junction's Steel Guitarist, Bandleader and Founder.  He started Country Junction in August 2002 after years of frustration from playing with other groups.  Nick does most of Country Junction's booking & management duties.  He's a native of Bowling Green, Kentucky and at age 8 he started learning to play acoustic guitar, mostly country & folk tunes his Daddy taught him using just 3 chords, then during his high school years in the early 70's, he took the route of rock n' roll.  In fact, Nick still has his old '62 Gibson SG Guitar, and '64 Fender Deluxe Reverb Amp that were part of that era.  Playing rock was just an attemp to fit in with the high school crowd.  Deep down Nick's taste was for the Nashville country & western scene and especially the sound of a Pedal Steel Guitar.  In 1985 he bought a Sho-Bud student model Steel Guitar and started learning how to play.
Pickin Country Music is just a weekend hobby for Nick.  Professionally he's worked in the Radio & Television Broadcast field for over 35 years.  He has a B.A. degree in Mass Communications from Western KY University and for many years worked as a radio diskjocky and announcer as well as a station owner.    Most of his career since 1973 has been focused working the technical side of Television.  You can view Nick's Steel Guitar website at www.nickreedsteelguitar.iwarp.com
